Congratulations to Jessica Baron (MODG Class of 2022) for receiving an Honorable Mention in the 2021 Wyoming Letters About Literature Contest!

The annual contest asks students to write a letter to the author of a book or poem and explain how it has affected them. Jessica chose to address her letter to Leo Tolstoy about his Anna Karenina and focus on the impact of the character Levin.

"Levin allowed me to realize that life isn't lived in grand moments," wrote Jessica. "[B]y small choices, one can change their life. Because of that, I can build the life that I want to live."

Jessica was told that the judge commented on her essay: "Connecting with Tolstoy from modern-day Wyoming is quite an achievement. I loved where Anna Karenina took you after reading it. Well done."
