Till We Have Faces by C.S. Lewis is from MODG’s Literary Analysis Class booklist.

Reckon with the gods as Orual does in Till We Have Faces, a poignant myth retold by C.S. Lewis. In pre-Christian Glome, Orual — disfigured and hideous — chooses to always hide her face behind a veil. Her sister, Psyche, is beautiful and is sent to live with Cupid, the god of love. Orual cannot accept this fate for her sister and bitterly defends Psyche with a destructive love. In Till We Have Faces, Lewis masterfully reveals how Orual’s pride and selfishness is followed by pain and suffering until she finally discovers a certain truth for herself.
