It has been a call from the Lord! For about a year, my husband and I prayed with a sense that the Lord was preparing to ask something of us. We had no idea what that would be. We prayed and fasted and waited. In the summer of 2020, He placed Into the Deep on our hearts through an incredibly clear call. He paved the way for us to release our first resource the following summer, and we have aimed to be obedient to Him since. He has provided His help along the way—through miracles and the geniuses of an incredible team—and brought to life what we never could have created by our own strength.

We feel so blessed to do this work. We pray it always honors the Lord!

What is your own life as a homeschooler like and how does Into the Deep fit into your routine?

Life as a homeschooling family is full! Beyond our education inside the home, we are involved in a classical co-op, music lessons, parish life, and sports.

I often tend to my work for Into the Deep in the afternoons between schoolwork and dinnertime. When writing for a new project, I steal away to a coffee shop on a few Saturday mornings while my husband and children adventure together.

What do you think MODG families will love about your materials?

They will love that our resources have the Imprimatur and teach only what the Church teaches. I think they'll appreciate the focus on the formation and education of the whole person toward holiness. And I know they'll like that they can use our resources as a family, across many ages!

What is one of your favorite resources that you have created?

This is a difficult one, but if I must narrow-down, I would choose our study on the Mass, our lectio divina journals (for children and women), and our study on Hallowtide.

Tell us about how you manage business ownership with motherhood!

There is actually a lot of crossover! Both require immense humility (because failure is frequent), reliance upon the Lord, docility to the Holy Spirit, flexibility, forethought, attentiveness, prioritization, encouragement, and courage.

Practically, the business is an overflow of my motherhood. I create these resources for my children—for all of our children! Catechesis in the home is my heart's song and Into the Deep simply reflects what we are trying to steward and cultivate under our roof.
