Chiara Valenti (Grade 8) Essay Winner:
Chiara chose St. Edmund Campion as her Confirmation saint. She decided to write an essay on him for the 2024 Catholic Textbook Project Essay Contest and she won in the Gr. 7-8 category for homeschoolers! She worked for almost two months on it. She really was determined to do a great job, and she went over and over it until she got it the way she wanted. She was the only Canadian who won; the rest of the winners were from the US. Sophie Naquin (MODG'24) Attending Emory & Henry College:
Sophie has committed to attend Emory & Henry College on an equestrian scholarship! As part of her MODG National Honor Society service, Sophie even taught groups of kids how to be responsible when caring for horses and other animals.
Ridgefield Students Excel in World's Largest Rocket Contest:
This group of homeschool students, including several MODG students, won the Presentation Competition at the world’s largest student rocketry competition this past May! Read more about it here!
Claire Anderson, Homeschool National Basketball Championship:
Claire Anderson plays for CHSM basketball out of the Houston, Texas, area. She is a starting member of the NCHBC Homeschool National Championship 16u girls basketball team. These girls are back-to-back national champions as they won the 14u last year before aging up.
